Aston Villa broke open their U8 soccer boys’ final at the annual
Pointe Claire House League Tournament as they poured in five goals
to pull away from Tottenham for a 6-0 final.
Aston Villa got lucky 12 minutes into the first half when a rebound
bounced off an onrushing Tottenham defender and into the open net.
The goal was awarded to Aston Villa’s Caelan Kemp.
Play had barely gotten underway in the second half when Ludovic
Fortin found the top right corner to make it 2-0 in favor of Aston
Villa.
Alex Courant contributed a pair of goals to the win, the first one,
a left-footer deep in the Tottenham box to make it 3-0 and the final
goal of the game to make it 6-nil. Matisse Fortier found the left
corner from the right side for the fourth goal, and Jake Grenier
powered the ball in for his team’s fifth goal.
Keepers Stephen Van Vliet and Seth Vam Egmond split the duties while
sharing in the shutout.
“It was fun to score in the last game,” Courant said.
Van Vliet and Vam Egmond both stated the reason for Aston Villa’s
success.
